Voyage from MAGROUND Images on Vimeo.
“I wanted to show the variety of pictures from all over the world in less than a minute. So the idea of going on a journey came up. Only pictures from our archive were taken and compiled like a stop motion to create the rough illusion of a trip around the world.”

New Balance has joined forces with Australian boutique, Highs and Lows to release a New Balance CM577 Day and Night pack to celebrate High and Lows’ 5th anniversary. The Highs and Lows team described this pack as follows:
“We wanted to create a shoe that’d accommodate the beach-side strolls, mid-day cookouts and streetside sundowners that all take place under our city’s blue skies and golden sun. When it came to the Night shoe, we agreed that the uncertainty of the evening called for a more stealthy approach and a little more solidarity in the materials. Therefore, the Night shoe became a black fullgrain leather and raw nubuck assassin with a breathable perforated toebox, 3M highlights and a little speckle thrown on the white sole to acknowledge the moon and stars that watch our every move after dark.”
The 577 Day and Night pack will be available on May 21, 2011 at Blends, CNCPTS, Burn Rubber, Bows and Arrows, Saint Alfred, and Shoe Gallery.

colette and Super Motor Company have teamed up to create a special colette version of their Super 50/100 motorcycle.
It’s distinctive colette blue en white color scheme has been stretched to an extreme, by replacing every chrome part with a fresh coat of gloss white, resembling a 70´s cool mint ad shot.
The Super Motor Company is a Dutch start-up by two petrol veined cousins who got bored of their fast and subsequently expensive motorcycles. The time was right for a new, affordable and easy on the eye motorcycle with a touch of yesteryear. They decided to take the plunge to design and produce it themselves – Super Motor Company was born. The Super motorcycle is a semi automatic four-stroke which is technically based on a so called step-through motorcycle, also known as a Cub.
This beauty will be shown and sold at colette in Paris from May 23rd.
Lately it seems fashion houses feel the need to reshuffle, realign their aesthetics and mostly figure out who they will associate with as a head designer. Vogue Italia illustrates what seems like a big fashion house and head designer puzzle, read the article here.
Fashioncopious, where the ad is viewed as a bit cheap. We can’t say we’re over the moon for it either, but we see this as more of an ongoing theme of Ford being somewhat stuck in the style themes of his salad days with Gucci. That being said, we see this as a normal part of the process of reentering the game–even when you’re one of the great ones–you stumble a bit, but stay undeterred and focused and eventually you hit your stride.
MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA Line 8 - Eyewear Collection from wwwPORVOCACAOcom on Vimeo.
Maison Martin Margiela has issued a video illustrating its Spring/Summer 2011 eyewear offerings. There are two styles, “Anatomic,” an enlarged rounded shape that envelopes the face and “Wrong Size,” which features lenses that don’t quite fit the frame. In a clever presentation befitting this artful brand, the glasses are shown on a graphic that mimics an eye chart. Via Anyonegirl.

Golden Goose, an Italian company was launched in 2000 by Alessandro Gallo and Francesca Rinaldo. Soon after the duo began styling “MTV Italy’s wardrobe.” The line “gets its originality from their effort put into researching and reinventing vintage materials.” The “Golden Goose Denim” is just one example of a washed jean that offers gold studs on the pockets. The jean is available in black and white and the fabric consists of 98% cotton and 2% elastane. The jean is all made in Italy. Aloha Rag has them.
The much anticipated “Velo” bike by Pharrell Williams for Domeau & Pérès has been released today. 26 colors, each limited to only 1.
“The idea came in 2009 after a visit to the Brooklyn Machine Works shop by Pharrell, Bruno Domeau & Philippe Pérès : the bicycle’s frame and fork are hand made out at the Brooklyn Machine workshop of 4130 chromemoly seamless airplane grade steel tubing.
After that, the bike is shipped to Domeau & Pérès in Paris where it’s upholstered in fine leather of water buffalo. All the stitching work is handmade : it takes them over 100 man hours.
Bikes are available in a variety of 26 colors, but each color is an edition of one and once purchased that color choice will no longer be available.”
You can order yours today from colette at firstname.lastname@example.org, and in 10 weeks later the bike arrives. Unfortunately the bike has a 20′000 Euro price tag.
For 2011 Citizen introduces “Eco-Drive SATELLITE WAVE,” a limited edition watch, housed in a ceramic and stainless steel case, with a totally new timekeeping system.
“This next-generation timepiece searches for the closest of the 24 navigation satellites that orbit the earth.
It captures the day, date and time signals the satellite emits from space, 20,000 kilometers above the earth.
Since the satellite signals are controlled by atomic clocks, this watch’s timekeeping is ultra precise.
Each of the 24 navigation satellites orbits the earth once every twelve hours, so that this watch receives the signals from any open space, even in the boundless Western Pacific or atop the world’s highest peak.
The metal ring embedded in the glass bezel seems to float in outer space, like a satellite in planetary orbit. The round case, which appears to be independent of the lugs, suggests the image of the earth. These design elements resonate with the technological combination of light power and time/calendar data received from outer space to keep this watch on time, always.
The spiral parts visible from the sides of the glass bezel are both a design motif, suggesting the radio waves that link this watch with outer space, and visible symbols of the light waves that provide Eco-Drive an inexhaustible source of energy. The three-dimensional forms on the watch face evoke the futuristic image of spaceship engines.
2011 will, thus, be the year in which time signals link wrist and outer space in an unprecedented experience. Eco-Drive SATELLITE WAVE will bring ultra-precise timekeeping to whatever human beings do, wherever they are on the face of the earth. It is purely powered by light.”
Limited to only 100 pieces, the watch will drop Autumn 2011.
For those of you that like a little bit of street art with your eyewear, Kaneko Optical may have just the thing for you. With the assistance of storied NY-based artist Futura, Kaneko produced two frames, all of which feature Mr. McGurr’s (Futura’s government name) tag on the lens and inner arm. Beyond that, the shades are straightforward, thick-framed styles, in slightly off-kilter color-ups. Out mid-May.

Burberry has launched their first pair of foldable sunglasses this season. The ‘Brights’ come in lots of colors, ranging from more summery versions to classic black and tortoise, certainly offering something for everybody. They nicely fold into a small pouch, which makes them practical to carry around. We would have preferred a little more subtle branding though. You can purchase them now from the official Burberry online store.
